Lake Biwa is the biggest lake in Japan and the inspiration for this shawl. The pattern reminds us of the waves that roll in from the lake. The easily remembered pattern is well suited for first time lace knitters. The unusually imprinted cotton yarn ITO Zome Gima emphasises the maritime theme of the shawl.
